and advice for your artistic process.

Online courses January – February 2021

Courses offered from the 11th of January to the 4th of February 2021.

From the 11th of January to the 4th of February, Metàfora will run a special batch of classes, streamed simultaneously online, while happening face-to-face at school.

This special block is open both to continuing students (free for anyone signed up for the following block) and students who simply want to try us out for a few weeks before deciding on a longer commitment.

Students on the January block have the option to sign up from their home countries or to join us in person and have a studio on-campus while taking this special short term stay for a very reduced fee.

All students have access to weekly individual tutorials with Metàfora’s staff of trained artists. The tutorials can be online or face-to-face.

Artist Talks

Artist Talks are an important part of Metàfora’s habitual activities. It is inspiring and helpful to hear about the investigation, production and life-span of professional artists and is something our students enjoy the most.

Life Drawing

One of the core activities at any art school. The class will be real time streaming of the activity from Metàfora’s Big Hall, offering good camera angles of the model and constant help and advice. Piotr Perski, our all time life drawing teacher, will be there to attend both online students and those who join the class in person.

Contemporary Painting and its Discourse

Practical art class

THIRD EDITION

We have now run the Contemporary Painting course twice and both editions have been a great success. In this course students will be working both at metàfora in real time together with a small number of students who will follow the class online from their homes.

The course includes individual tutorials with the teacher.

For whom:
This course requires some experience with painting, although a professional background is far from necessary.

Stop Motion Animation

Students will begin by learning more about the work of stop-motion artists and animators, as well as a brief introduction on the history of stop-motion and its different techniques.

Then you will discover some basic concepts of animation, the materials and tools necessary to make your first piece of animation and the software you will use.

Then it will be time to get down to your own personal interests and finish the course with a small piece related to your work.
