Class description
The art of printmaking involves replicating high-quality copies of an image using traditional printing methods. Prints are made by transferring ink from a prepared surface onto a sheet of paper with the aid of a printing press. These prints are often produced in limited editions, with each print numbered and signed.
In this workshop, participants will explore four different techniques: Linocut, Woodcut, Drypoint etching, and Monotypes. Through hands-on practice, attendees will learn the intricacies of these methods and develop their printmaking skills.
Notable artists such as Rembrandt, Emil Nolde, Maarit Hänninen, Ellen Von Wiegand, Paula Rego, Katsushika Hokusai, and Ana DMatos serve as inspiration for this workshop, showcasing the diverse possibilities and artistic expressions that can be achieved through printmaking.
