At Metàfora, we believe that cultural integration is an essential part of the experience of studying abroad. We encourage our students to engage with Spanish and Catalan culture with curiosity, openness and respect.

Learning the languages spoken in Barcelona is one of the most meaningful ways to connect with the local community, gain a deeper understanding of its culture, and feel truly at home in the city.

Starting in 2027, Metàfora will be working with the officially recognized Camino Barcelona Spanish language school.*

Both Metàfora and Escuela Camino Barcelona Spanish language school offer substantial discounts on tuition fees in this collaboration, making the Spanish Language option an attractive and affordable opportunity to expand the experience of studying at Metàfora.

An additional benefit of this option is the possibility of obtaining a student visa for up to 52 weeks, allowing international students to fully immerse themselves in the city’s artistic, cultural, and linguistic life.

*Escuela Camino Barcelona Spanish language school is accreddited by the gobernment entity Instituto Cervantes.

Class structure

With art classes primarily scheduled in the mornings, students can attend Spanish or Catalan lessons in the afternoons or evenings, making it possible to balance both courses.

Beyond scheduled classes, students can access the studios every day until 23:00, including weekends and public holidays, allowing everyone to work at their own pace and organize their art practice around their language studies.
This flexible structure encourages students to make the most of both experiences, combining artistic development, language learning, and cultural immersion in Barcelona.

Dates

It is possible to enroll in the Spanish Language option each year starting in September (academic year or Autumn+Winter semesters) or in January (calendar year or Winter+Spring semesters).

Application

The entire process is straight forward and can usually be completed within 3–5 days of submitting the application.

Once admission and enrolment are confirmed, students will receive the relevant admission documents from both institutions.

Students interested in Metàfora’s Spanish language option can indicate their preference directly in the application form. The admission process involves two simple steps:

  1. Online interview with Metàfora’s Admissions Team to discuss the student’s interests, artistic background, and study plans.
  2. Language assessment with Escuela Camino Barcelona Spanish language school, consisting of a placement test or online interview to determine the appropriate language level.

Fees

For just 998€ (one year) or 759€ (six months) on top of the regular early bird tuition fees, Metàfora’s students can enrich their experience by learning a language which is spoken locally, deepen their understanding of Barcelona, and connecting more meaningfully with the city’s cultural and social life.

Payment conditions

To benefit from the exclusive reductions of this package of programs, students must pay 100% of the fees to enroll on the two courses. 

The proportional part of the fees of each course must be paid directly to each institution, using a special discount code provided by Metàfora upon admission.
