Diploma in Studio Arts.
Metàfora’s Diploma in Studio Arts is the advanced level of our 3 year Training Program, a university level course which can be considered as a valid alternative to a BFA in Fine Art.
All 3 years are considered independent programs: Foundation Program in Studio Arts, Certificate in Studio Arts and Diploma in Studio Art.
A stay on Metàfora’s Diploma can last down to a semester to one academic year, although the Final Show and Thesis presentation is available only to all-year students.
Advanced level students can apply directly for year 3 of Metàfora’s Training Program (Diploma in Studio Arts). This course is an advanced level, where students start out with previous experience in art investigation. It is expected that the student will have experimented sufficiently with different tools and techniques in order to choose a work field to investigate independently in the studio. For this level an extensive knowledge of Recent Art History is a must.
Metàfora admits students to the second level of the Training Program (Certificate in Studio Arts), if they have previous experience in art and some knowledge of Recent Art History. Normally, admission to this level requires a completed Foundation Course (at Metàfora or elsewhere) or similar.
Students are admitted to the first year of the Training Program (Foundation Program in Studio Arts), if they do not have previous studies in art.
