Class Description
This workshop focuses on fundamental techniques of ARC welding, encompassing metal cutting, bending, and metal cleaning. It also covers essential aspects of welding safety systems.
During the workshop, participants engage in hands-on activities to develop skills in initiating the welding arc, creating weld beads, and meticulously cleaning and polishing welded joints. Additionally, students have the opportunity to create a small metal sculpture.
The theoretical segment of the workshop explores renowned artists such as Jorge Oteiza, Jaume Plensa, Antony Gormley, Richard Serra, Tony Cragg, and others, offering insights into their artistic contributions.

Students who take the short courses option will be provided with a working space and storage to use throughout their stay on the Metàfora Studio Arts program.
This workshop is open to all full-time students on the Studio Arts Program. Depending on availability, it is also available as a Pick and Choose workshop.
