Class Description
While sculptural modeling is commonly associated with clay, it’s important to recognize that other materials possess the malleability required for this artistic practice. In this workshop, we will explore various sculptural modeling materials and delve into their unique characteristics and possibilities.
Throughout the course, we will learn about renowned artists who have worked with sculptural modeling, such as Niki de Saint Phalle, Rebecca Stevenson, Henry Moore, Erwin Wurm, Wilfrid Wood, Hamra Abbas, and Cynthia Consentino. Their diverse approaches and styles will serve as inspiration and reference points for our exploration of different materials.
By expanding our understanding beyond clay, we will discover the wide range of options available for sculptural modeling and explore the distinct qualities and expressive potential of each material.
