Credits and Diploma
Metàfora is an independent institution, however, its Studio Arts Program operate according to habitual university-level accreditation norms. Short term students can request a detailed transcript by the end of their stay. The transcript is issued only to students whose attendance to the course complies with formal attendance-indications.
The transcript reflects hours (ECTS credits) and grades of all the classes which the student has attended. The transcript also reflects studio work and programmed activities like Art History and presentations.
Credits are calculated according to ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System), where 1 ECTS credit equals 25 hours of the sum of lective hours + homework. As in all universities and schools for further education in Europe, a full time academic year counts 60 ECTS. This includes all education activities, individual studio practice, writing and academic work, exhibiting and preparing final dissertation (3rd year project).
Classes, for which the student has been absent for more than 20% will not appear in the transcript.
Fees
Places for the course are limited. A spot in the course is not guaranteed until payment is made. The course fees are paid at different moments and are divided into different concepts:
- Reservation fee is due upon admission
- Remaining Fees are due 2 weeks prior to the start of the course
These packages entail a significant discount of over 20% with respect to taking both courses separately.
Part-time course conditions
Working space, no studio
Students on the Part-Time Course have no studio space or permanent workstation at Metàfora, but are welcome to store materials and work in progress in a specially designated area. Outside class hours, the part time students can work on personal art projects in designated classrooms.
With/out ECTS credits
As a student opting for the part-time course format you get to choose how you would like to be accredited. You can choose to take the course with or without ECTS accreditation.
Student Visa is not applicable
Please note that Metàfora’s Part-Time option does not qualify for a student visa, which is available only for studies over 25 hours per week.
