The Academic Year 2024-25 starts
on the 9th September, 2024
Metàfora’s Studio Arts Program is a flexible art program made up of modular blocks which start multiple times a year, allowing students to begin with a 6-week block and extend if desired.

The SUMMER BLOCK
For students of all levels.
Between 1st and 25th July. Stay from 1 week to 4 weeks, and see how the course works whilst you get to know Barcelona and the Mediterranean during the Summer.
The Summer Block does not form part of the Academic / Calendar Year, and for this reason, the application process is easier, please follow the link for more information.
ACADEMIC/CALENDAR YEAR 2024-25
Choose your year on the program based on your entry level to the course.
The Academic Year takes place between 9th September, 2024 and 29th May, 2025 whereas the Calendar Year 2025 is held between the 13th January and the 27th November, 2025.
All interested students who pay their course fees at least 6 weeks before the course starts can benefit from a 20% Early Bird Discount. The for applicable until the 26th July, 2024.
THE 3 YEAR STUDIO ARTS PROGRAM
The favourite! Grow as an artist, from foundation to advanced.
Once students get on the Studio Arts Program, they usually opt to stay for longer. It is now possible to sign up for the complete 3 year program at a discounted rate starting from this academic year which starts on the 9th September, 2024. Interested students can apply for an early bird discount applicable until the 26th July, 2024 on top of the the full package discount.

Short Term Stays
We acknowledge that not everyone can commit to a full year abroad in Spain. That’s why we provide shorter stays through Metàfora’s Studio Arts Programs, with each block lasting just 6 weeks.
This option offers a more cost-effective yet immersive and focused experience. Students opting for shorter stays don’t need to go through the process of applying for a student visa; instead, they can utilize a 3-month tourist visa.

YEAR 3
DIPLOMA
- Professionalization
- Thesis presentation at Barcelona’s Contemporary Art Museum (MACBA)
- A final show in an established gallery
- An external tutor of your choice to accompany you during the run up to the final show
- Weekly tutorials, plus extra tutorials with in-house tutors of your choice
- Weekly critical theory classes and debates
- Artwork presentations every 6 weeks
- Exhibition opportunities
- A residency opportunity with a collaborating institution
- Studio space optional
